At The Tank, I can provide a few different formats for photo sessions! It really depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re unsure please consult with me and we can figure it out!
Obviously, I am very excited to make a photo of you on a wet collodion tintype plate but hey, I’m flexible!
Here’s some options—
If you’re looking for budget friendly portraits where you can get a lot of different poses and options, you may want 35mm film. If you’re looking for something a bit more thoughtful, intentional, and detailed, you may want 120mm film. If you’re looking for something EVEN more thoughtful where we can hand craft a scene and really put a lot of artistic elbow grease into it, you may then 4×5 film!

This historic process is a wonderful way to explore the history of photography and get a really cool picture out of it. Each plate takes 20-30 minutes to prepare and expose with a lot of care and love.

35mm, or “standard format”, is the best way to get a lot of frames made during a session. Modern rolls of film hold 36 frames per a roll. These sessions can either be done on location in the 757 or in the studio at Vintage Trixie!

120mm film or “Medium Format” is a wonderful way to get high quality photos at a semi-reasonable speed. medium format can also produce different aspect ratios like; 1:1, 4:5, and 4:3. This gives us a lot creative potential for shoots!

4×5 Sheet Film is the same size as the Tintype plates I use. It’s a labor of love but is also a lot quicker than the tintype process. We are able to slow down and be more creative while also having large, very detail negatives! (contact printing services coming soon!)
