About The Tank
The Tank is a one-man analog photography studio that specializes in Tintype photography ran by me, Duffy Behm. I have been a photographer for 10 years and have explored various mediums; digital, standard format, medium format, and large format. The Tank is a statement against the advancement of technology and AI. I take pride in having my hands on every step of the process when making photographs. From shooting to developing to scanning.
I think it’s important to keep alive analog mediums in this era of technology. We must preserve the history of art while also pushing the creative envelope.

Making a Tintype is a slow and laborious process. If you are looking for something a bit quicker take a peek at what else I do!
While still fitting into our overall mission here at The Tank, 35mm film is one of the quickest forms of analog photography. The detail in this format is incredible, much better than most digital cameras from the year 2000-2015! It’s perfect for family portraiture, a live event, and anything in-between.
This film is considered to be “Medium Format”. It’s a bit slower than its neighbor, 35mm (aka standard format), but is a much larger negative offering more detail. This is one of my favorite formats!
Now here’s the big boy! This is considered to be the smallest form of “Large Format” photography but as you can imagine, it offers incredible results. This is a very slow process but much quicker than a tintype but still the same size!
